10 things you should know about our solar system

If you are thinking that you know all about our solar system here some facts are available, you should have to know these facts about our solar system. Let's start our journey of the solar system.

1) Our solar system is 4.5 billion years old

Our solar system is ancient. The age of our solar system is nearly 4.568 billion years old. If the timeline of the universe we measure on cosmos calendar, humans come only some second before in the universe.

2) A day is longer than a year on Venus

Venus is the second planet from the sun and the second-brightest natural object in the night sky after the moon. A day is how long it takes a planet to rotate fully, and a year is how long a planet takes to orbit the sun, isn't it..? We all know that The Venus is one of only two planets that rotate clockwise, and it spins much slower than others in the solar system. It takes 243 Earth days to do a complete rotation and 225 Earth days to orbit the sun. This fact is really mind-blowing. Therefore, A day is longer than a year on Venus.

3) The Pluto isn't the only dwarf planet we have...!

We all know that pluto is a dwarf planet but, here Pluto isn't only a dwarf planet in our solar
system. There are five currently officially classified dwarf planet in our solar system. They
are Ceres, Pluto, Haumea, Makemake, and Eris.

4) The sun accounts 99.8%  mass of the entire solar system...!

You ever imagined, how big the sun is...?  The radius of the sun is 696,340 km. The sun is
864,400 miles across. This is about 109 times the diameter of Earth.

5) What about Uranus? you can't stand on Uranus.

We all know Uranus as a gas giant. If we ever plan to go on a trip on Uranus, You will be
shocked when you reach your location because you can't land your spaceship on Uranus.
Uranus has no solid surface to land on it.

6) Saturn's rings are made 90% of water

Saturn is famous because of his beautiful rings and the second biggest planet in our solar
system. The Saturn is too far from the sun so the water in it rings is frozen into ice. Saturn's
surface is mainly like the Uranus surface.

7) There are194 moons,  3,583 comets, and 796,289 asteroids had been found in our sola

 system.

8) The sunset on The mars appears blue

This sounds impossible and beautiful too, but this is true. Mars has not a perfect atmosphere
like the earth that's why the sunset from mars is blue in color. This effect called Rayleigh
scattering. This effect caused by the presence of 1% by volume of magnetite in the dust particles.

9) Saturn's moon Titan has liquid oceans of natural gas.

Saturn's moon Titan has lakes and oceans of liquid methane and ethane that has been detected by the Casino-Huygens space probe and has been suspected long before. The large ones are known as maria(seas) and the small one as locus(lakes).

10) Pluto is smaller in diameter than the U.S.

The greatest distance across the contiguous united states from northern California to Maine is nearly 2,900 miles(4,700 km). But the pluto is 1,473 miles across, less than half the width of the U.S.
